Our club provides financial support to community organizations according to the following guidelines.

1. Requests for funding or support for individuals will not be considered as we would like groups of people to benefit from our donations.

2. Groups requesting funding who already have their own bingo, casino or licensed lottery may NOT receive funding from our bingo funds (BCPGB regulations).

3. Requests for funds from groups and organizations outside the Nanaimo area (i.e. Ladysmith or Parksville, etc) will be referred to the local Rotary Club of that area. This is not to be confused with international donations.

4. We expect that whenever possible our Club get as much recognition and exposure as possible through the printed media and signs or plaques.

5. All donations will be non-denominational, fair to all and open to everyone to benefit (no religious or political requests will be considered).

6. Emphasis will be on projects that benefit humans as opposed to animals.

7. No contributions will be made to Annual Campaigns (i.e. Heart, Cancer, Diabetes Associations) unless we have done a project or work for that organization.

8. Regarding schools:

a) Priority will be given to those requests that benefit students by supporting activities that will enhance extracurricular opportunities, life skills and health.

b) Financial assistance may not be provided for curricular activities or professional development of staff.
