Rotary Minute by Colin - topic was Rotary benefactor; a member becomes a benefactor by leaving a bequest to the endowment fund from an estate or by making an outright donation of $1,000 or more to the fund.
 
Member Minute.  Derek was invited to join by Bruce Coleman in 1990.  Derek joined because he wanted to make the world a better place with integrity. 
Gill volunteered to present at the September 19 meeting.
 
Announcements  Bev Hilton told us that Wayne Anderson, Rotary Club of Nanaimo, will succeed her as Assistant Governor  for Area 4 in the upcoming Rotary year beginning in July. She also said that a meeting with District Governor Tom Carroll is coming up, probably on October 17th .
Oceanside Rotary is planning a Golf Tournament for Friday, October 13.  Note to President Jim: the dress theme is Halloween.
 
Community Breakfast - Rob Waine is looking for volunteers for the breakfast on Saturday September 9.

Roger Northwood gave an informative presentation on his experiences in hospital - expectations & reality.
