Michael exchanged banners with President Jim and told us about his club.
Foundation Minute: Colin spoke about the Annual Fund SHARE system; each year contributions to the Annual Fund are credited 50% to the World Fund and 50% to the District Designated Fund. The World Fund pays for grants and programs available to all Rotary districts. Districts use the District Designated Fund to pay for Foundation grants and programs.
Member Moment Bill Robinson spoke about the personal satisfaction he has from his involvement in Rotary.
Frank Gregory Award - President Jim read a thank you letter from the recipient, Colton Cassell.
Summer Lunch Munch - Sue Gibson read a thank you letter from the summer lunch munch program.
Announcements
Disaster Aid Container - Larry took a shift on Monday afternoon, helping to pack the final donations into the 20 ft shipping container. The container was full by the end of the day.
Club Budget for 2017_18 - Ed has sent out the budget for comment.
Community Breakfast - Saturday August 12; Rob Waine will be asking for volunteers.
Symphony By the Sea - also on August 12 by in the afternoon. Volunteers needed to collect donations and operate the popcorn machine.
VIEX Parking August 18, 19, 20 - Rob is asking for volunteers to help direct people to parking at the VIEX. It is a benefit to the Loaves & Fishes Food Bank. Volunteers receive an entry bracelet for the day.
Program Joan Ryan, Chair of the District Youth Service Committee. Joan's presentation outlined the District 5020 Youth Protection Guidelines.

The presentation should be given annually as per RI guidelines.
The Youth Protection Policy applies not only to Youth Exchange and RYLA but also to Interact, Rotaract and any other activities with youth.
Any adult who has continued contact with youth must undergo the selection and screening process; Paul Geneau can provide a link to the online application.
D5020 recommends that three or more people (any combination of students and adults) are present during any casual contact outing with a youth.
