Rotary Minute:

Colin shared with us about Literacy Projects and Grants. One example is that 1400 Text books were purchased for Nigerian students that couldn't afford them.  This makes a huge difference in these students education.

September is Literacy Month!!!

Member Moment:

Gill shared with us the she joined in 1997 because her father had been a Rotarian.  Although the first time she tried to join the Rotary Club didn't take women. She really enjoys being all the aspects of being a Rotarian.

Program :

Paul Geneau's Trip to India
Thanks to Paul for sharing his amazing trip slide show to India.

Paul was there for a Conference. Paul and Cathy took a week side trip from this for a Golden Triangle Tour.  This consisted of visiting Delhi - Agra - Jaipur.  While they were in Delhi they saw TukTuk's in which they drive like manics and honk their horns excessively!
He show pictures of beautiful marble government buildings and mosque's and it sounds like Paul was happy he wore pants as when you go into a mosque you must have your legs totally covered and there was a great pic of others wearing a colourful dress type cover.  He also shared fabulous pics of the Taj Mahal and some of its history as it was built in honour of  the Mughal's Ruler deceased wife which whom they had 7 children, and made out of precious stones and marble by Persian families that were brought in. Also there was some great shopping to be had from elegant Sari's to beautiful chess sets.
India looks like a really interesting place to visit!!! Thanks for a great tour!
