Rotary Minute with Colin:
Rotary is known for it's exchange of banners or small flags. They are shared as Rotarians travel and visit other clubs. These should be distinctive and expressive of the country or territory of the originating club.
Announcements:

Rob talked about the next breakfast. Our usual fare is not particularly street friendly, so we have decided to create a breakfast wrap to be served with a banana. The next breakfast will be Saturday the 12 of December. Donations of sox can be brought to the breakfast or dropped off at Rob’s house.
Larry spoke about Loaves and Fishes. Just 5 showed up for the last session. The next scheduled session will be December 22nd and about 8 volunteers would be good.
Larry also talked about the Sleigh Full of Deals which is under way. We really need to help find businesses to participate by putting coupons out for the promotion.
Doug reminded us that there is an upcoming RYLA meeting. Contact Doug for more information. It’s a fabulous Rotary program for young people of high school age. And yes, there will be a conference in March but it will be virtual and of course at a much lower cost.
Ian brought us up to date on the golf ball drop. We are just a few days from starting to sell tickets. The web site should be ready on Thursday. Hopefully most tickets will be sold online but we will get some instructions about how to deal with someone giving us cash. (spoiler alert – you will need their email)
Pub night on December 8th has been cancelled as a result of the latest Covid regulations
Our next meeting will be December 15th – it will be a party night (via Zoom). Wear your Christmas sweater or hat and don’t forget to prepare your favorite beverage.
Paul told us that there may be hope for next years youth exchange if vaccines become available.
Ed gave us a concise report of our finances. Happy and Sad money is up and projected expenses for meals are down. A more detailed breakdown in January.

Paul Harris Award
Congratulations to Don Dempson for his Paul Harris award. Nancy did the honours and pinned on the award (which was a multiple). It's great to see Don get this award for his exceptional work for Rotary.
Program:
This weeks program was replaced with a business meeting which included the election of the executive.
