Points to Ponder:
2020 in a nutshell. A self-isolated jobless Canadian in a Covid mask attacked by murder hornets while shovelling snow in May.

Program:
Gordon Graham spoke to us tonight about the Peace International School in Nyanza, Rwanda Africa.

Rwanda has had a recent history of violence between tribes.  Biship Denis Mugabo (who studied in Ottawa) has started churches in nearby countries but he return to Rwanda to look for family members and many orphans.  Bishop Denis and his wife Dativea were instrumental in starting up the school when, in 2009 Japanese grant was enough to start the elementary school for 270 students.

It includes a library and administration offices   There are 11 teachers, 2 volunteer teachers and 7 non-teaching staff.  This school has consistently had high national results.  It is currently closed due to Covid but will reopen as the health rules are met.

The next step is high school and it would target students with a poor financial background that would have to be away from home.  They would share the school with other students who are better off.  The high school construction got under way but has halted due to a lack of funds.  In the four years since the construction started, 400 young people were unable to complete their education and graduate from high school.

Here is a list of costs that would be required to get the high school completed.
