Meeting: JUNE 17, 2025
INSTALLATION CELEBRATION
If you didn't attend then you missed a fun night! The theme was "Coming Around Again" as this is Cara's 2nd time to lead the club.
Ian Thompson was the MC for the evening in place of Jim Turley who is home from his travels with pneumonia!
Guests were introduced and Moin gave a toast to spouses and partners.
Bill as outgoing President gave an overview of the year and thanked his board and the members for their involvement and support. He then awarded Ed Poli with the Rotarian of the Year Award and lucky Ed got to take the trophy home ( I am sure that Anne Marie will find some closet in which to hide it) .

President's Profile:
I grew up in Red Deer, Alberta with my mom and 2 younger sisters. After graduating High School, I moved to Lethbridge Alberta to study Criminal Justice. I obtained my diploma and moved to Calgary, where I completed my degree and worked in the hospitality industry during this time. I was planning on staying in Calgary permanently but ended up meeting Dalan while attending a friend's wedding in Mexico. Dalan and I kept in touch for a few months after the wedding and I eventually decided to move to Dawson Creek where he was working. I wasn't able to find any work in Dawson Creek pertaining to my degree and I ended up working for a property management company. I started off doing basic administration work, and by the time I left, I was managing the office and hundreds of properties between Dawson Creek and Fort St. John. Dalan was from Nanaimo, and always wanted to move back to The Island, but ended up getting a job in Vancouver.
We moved to Vancouver where I ended up finding another job in Property Management. We stayed in Vancouver for a few years and then decided to purchase a home in Nanaimo. I moved to Nanaimo in 2018 and obtained my Real Estate License shortly afterwards and began working with Royal Lepage Nanaimo. At the time, I did not fully understand what Rotary was, but was looking up volunteer opportunities in the community and stumbled upon The Rotary Club of Nanaimo North Website. I attended one of the dinner meetings and the rest is history! February 5, 2019, was the day I became a Rotarian and also the day I obtained my Real Estate License.
Covid happened and I ended up being the President of The Rotary Club of Nanaimo North During this time. It was an interesting time but the amount of support and mentorship that our members provide; words cannot describe!
I adopted my rescue dog "Tubby" from afghanistan, and have recently acquired another German Shepard named "Spud"
In my spare time, I love gardening, hiking, camping and riding my motorcycle.
