Our Club is participating in the RI pilot project GO – Growth and Opportunities. This should provide us with great tools to enhance our club.
Key to attracting and retaining new members
- Think outside the box and to be flexible. The world has changed and so must we.
- Be prepared to let go of some things and be clear about what those things are.
- Younger people are attracted to things that have a clear benefit for them. Keep in mind WHAT’S IN IT FOR ME.
We have deep rooted culture in Rotary.
So the challenge is to take what is really important to us and yet open ourselves up to the new generation’s way of thinking and acting.
Our club’s attraction and retention:
- Engagement
- Orientation
- Involvement in Committees
- Informal mentoring
Action: We need to analyze our practices and hold them up to a strong lens. It’s not about what WE need but what new members need and want. We need to adapt.
Most of us see the need to adapt as a priority. The question is what are we going to do about it.
MORE INFORMATION WILL BE UPLOADED TO OUR WEBSITE EARLY NEXT WEEK.
HAPPY/SAD: Greg
DOOR PRIZE: Craig won a beautiful box of chocolates donated by Donya. In true Rotary fashion Craig shared his gift once we figured out how to open the box. Now that was a true test of thinking outside the box…. Craig will be responsible for bring the door prize next week.
