Cara reminded us that next Tuesday October 8th is the Family Dinner at Fairview Elementary, 205 Howard Avenue. 2 shifts 4.30 to 6.30 and 5.30 to7 .00. Let Cara knw when you are able to attend. We need eveyone as 80 students have already signed up
Ian is selling tickets for the Octoberweenfest, a social night at the Rugby Club on October 29th
Program: Derek introduced Michelle Chawla, Director and CEO Canada Council for the Arts
- took Executive Director 5 year term role on about 1 year ago.
- The organization has a budget of approximately $325,000,000
- Supports art organizations all over Canada
- Funded by Government of Canada
- Disburses grants and payments to art organization through Group Peer volunteers
- Reiterated the role of the arts in the community as a benefit to the economy and happiness of Canadians.
- Need to support the arts and have everyone in the community involved
