Guests: Rotary Outbound Exchange Students, RYLA Students, Rotaract Members
Announcements:
Pres Greg gave a brief report of the 5-Presidents Meeting held on Monday, Mar 23
Rotary Club of Nanaimo (Downtown) is spearheading an initiative to have a float in the Nanaimo Heritage Day Parade. Jim reminded us that we are committed to running the beer gardens for the marine festival to be held the same weekend.
Program:
Our 3 RYLA students gave an excellent presentation about their experience. For them it was clearly a life altering, inspirational experience. It was clear that Nanaimo was well represented.
We also had the privilege of hearing from our outbound students, who will both be going to Germany – although not the same part of the country.
Our members were much impressed by the presentations of our RYLA representatives and our exchange students.
March 31 meeting will focus on a special presentation by Donya Baker: The Impacts of an Aging Population on the Future of Volunteer Leadership in Community Organizations.
