Program: Ken Hammer & Jessy Zheng International Service and telling the Rotary Story
The subject was introduced by Dr. Ken Hammer with a summary of the structure in which International Service (formerly termed World Community Service) operates.
Then he outlined the history of the Mid-Island Group which was formed in 2007 to allow clubs to pool funds and develop larger projects with greater impact and to elevate the profile of international development work among Rotarians and the general public.
Ken said Jessy was hired to help MIG tell the international story. Jessy said that the connections between Rotarians and youth affiliates such as Interact and Rotaract are not well developed. She said that Rotary youth would be very effective at informing the community about Rotary's work.
