It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words and, thanks to Don, these pictures speak volumes about how great the installation of President Greg
and his team was last night.

New board will consist of President Greg, Past President Jeff, President Elect Lee, Treasurer Jim, Secretary Audrey and Directors Ed, Rob, Gill and Rod.  Looks like a great board.
Here is a view of Rotarians and significant others have a great time.

Seems that President Greg was not enamoured of photo used on the Agenda.  Personally I thought it looked great.

Here is Jim receiving the President's award.

Here is Ed receiving Rotarian of the year award.

Farewell to President Jeff.

Craig wants us to know about…

HOMESTAY FAMILIES NEEDED - July 24-29 (5 nights) - Japanese youth group on annual visit to Vancouver Island:

• We need families who can offer a warm family atmosphere for either two boys or two girls. For families where Friday and/or Monday are work days, we have activities planned for those parents.

• Families will receive a small 'per diem' to help with expenses

• The youth are between the ages of 13 and 17 inclusive.

As a long-time Host Family ourselves, I can tell you that hosting an International student is a wonderful experience, especially if you have school age children.
If you might be interested, please email me and we can arrange a time to talk. And – if you know of someone else who might be interested, please let me know.

Stories
The club recently voted to print 100 copies (3 classroom sets plus 10 spared) of each of the books pictured here. They will be used by the three Hul’qumi’num teachers in SD68 each of whom rotate through a number of classrooms.  All three have seen sample copies of the books and are excited to be able to begin using them starting next September.

The SD68 Multicultural and Race Relations Committee, chaired by member Bill Robinson, a trustee, is working to introduce more Hul’qumi’num language and culture into the district’s schools through introducing more Hul’qumi’num signage and verbal language into the day to day experience of students. Our club has also provided volunteers at two Truth and Reconciliation events this year, which has helped to move this goal forward.
