Announcements:
  • Ticket sales for our 50th Anniversary Celebration are slow! More non-members have paid than members - Rob urged everyone to pay by e-transfer as soon as possible as the Golf Club needs to knowhow many are attending.
  • The Sally-Ann breakfast is this coming Saturday - Rob has enough volunteers.
  • The Lions Club is no longer doing the Santa Parade - general feeling was it is too late for us to organize it now.
  • The DG is collecting donations for the hurricane recovery in Florida - perhaps we should be helping Eastern Canada?
  • Youth Exchange Interviews will be held on October 12th - for details contact Paul Geneau.
  • Sue reported that as usual there was no snail mail. Discussion followed about cancelling our P.O.Box  Issue was tabled to a future date.
Anniversaries: Ed and Anne Marie - 43 Years!

Program: The Men's Centre.
Cresswell Walker and Yonas Jongkind  gave a passionate talk about the efforts to address men in crisis. The Men's Centre was founded in 2001  and provides services to men including coaching, counselling and navigating legal and family matters.  The Centre offers a variety of courses including how to deal with violence, lack of control, thoughts of suicide and others.
